Child safety standards

Ohanaki has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This page sets out how we prevent, detect and act on it across the Ohanaki app on iOS, Android and the web.

Zero tolerance

Any content or behaviour that sexually abuses or exploits children is forbidden: child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion, trafficking, or any sexualisation of people under 18.

Accounts that do this are banned for good as soon as it is confirmed, without warning.

Protecting younger users

Users must be 13 or older.

Dating is for people aged 18 and over only. Age comes from the date of birth on the main account (it is not typed again), and on iPhone it is checked against the age range Apple shares through Declared Age Range: if the device says the user is under 18, dating is closed.

There are no photos in Hearts & Dating. Every post is read and approved by the Ohanaki team before it shows; phone numbers, links and social accounts are blocked in posts and comments.

Private chats in Dating open only when both people agree.

Reporting in the app

Every post, comment and person can be reported. Reported content is hidden from the reporter at once and goes to the moderation queue.

You can also message Ohanaki Support from Messages, or e-mail the address at the bottom of this page.

Handling child sexual abuse material

Suspected CSAM is removed immediately, the accounts involved are banned, and the data required by law is preserved for investigators.

We report to the authorities: in Vietnam, the Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05), Ministry of Public Security, and the national child protection hotline 111; elsewhere, through local reporting channels, including NCMEC's CyberTipline (United States).

Compliance with the law

Ohanaki complies with Vietnam's Law on Children and with child protection laws wherever the app is published, and with Apple App Store and Google Play child safety policies.
